APOC Year Five
UPDATE: Expect some delays as I’m in the process of house buying/moving, and also my first holiday abroad in years for my birthday – if someone told me six months ago I’d be having a November like this, right after an RSI break, I’d probably descend into a chaotic ball of nervous laughter. Updates will resume as soon as I feel able. There are six pages left – all currently have dialogue and completed thumbnails, one page fully sketched. We’ll get there, there’s just a lot going on right now. <3
Some of you might have seen this on TopWebcomics already, but today is officially the anniversary day, so now it’s popping up here!
My first artwork since taking a break to rest my arms! I’ve missed drawing so much, even if I was feeling a bit rusty. Either way, I couldn’t miss this 5 year anniversary, so here’s a little something. Thank you all for your support, through the intense chapters and my burnouts – it’s been a ride up to now! I’ll be getting the last pages of Chapter 7 done very soon, so keep an eye out.

Rest as long as you need. Bad health means a bad you, and we need you healthy for the comic!
Happy anniversary and thanks for the very nice panel. I still can’t read the strange alphabet Clara’s APOC uses but I guess this time it’s something positive. Take care.
“Five years have passed.”
Now that you mention… it’s obvious… or not so much but still makes sense.
There does seem to be a simple substitution cipher like the old “Legion of SuperHeroes” in the DC comics. The first thing would be to make a list of all the strips containing the strange characters such as 04_06, 04_07, 05_27 05_31, 05_38, etc. There is also the fact that the cipher characters are often modified versions of the plain text characters (flipped vertically or horizontally, rotated, stretched in one direction, lines added, removed or given a different gray level, dots added, etc.) Some of the characters can also have variants such as E being three horizontal lines with a vertical line on the left or simply three horizontal lines.
Happy 5iversary!
Take all the time you need with the break.
